Starting in 2012, the Department of Management has quickly gained both national and international recognition and developed from strength to strength. The department has always aimed to be the best by providing a wide choice of courses, producing excellent research from faculty members who are focused on research, and having top-notch students. The department offers the entire suite of courses, which includes BBA and MBA Full Time. Since the department has always been at the forefront of creating high-quality education, the courses it offers are constantly evaluated to ensure they are in line with and updated to meet the needs of the ever-changing business environment.

A good balance of co-curricular and extracurricular activities is incorporated into the course content and teaching methodology in an effort to provide future managers with a comprehensive education. The design of the teaching method encourages pupils to think creatively. The fieldwork, case studies, and other curricular activities are purposefully included to foster interest about finding answers to the issues facing the market. The department’s goal is to develop and nurture leaders who have a thorough grasp of business.

To help students develop their corporate manners and become aware of the demands of the business, the Department hosts interactive workshops on a regular basis including speakers from the upper echelons of the sector. Recognizing the significance of adapting to the ever-changing technical landscape and dynamic environment, the department arranges seminars and training sessions aimed at educating prospective managers on the most recent breakthroughs and trends in the corporate sector. The department hosts workshops on a variety of topics, including share markets, software, and entrepreneurship, to keep the students engaged. The department arranges industrial excursions so that people can experience real-world scenarios.

The Master of Business Administration programmes at IMS Business School under Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal and approved by AICTE, New Delhi. The MBA programmes was established in the year 2012 and is a professional experience that prepares the students for the future. At IMS Business School, industry interface is a year-round activity with projects, industrial visits, and training. The Centre for management studies has very esteemed faculty who have several years of rich industry experience as well as teaching experience. In addition, Knowledge series by eminent industry personalities keep students well abreast of the latest developments in the corporate world.

The IMS Business School's MBA alumni are well-rounded individuals who have mapped out a professional path that would eventually propel them to higher managerial positions. Our instructors have extensive backgrounds in the business world, with several having held senior management roles. They also have outstanding backgrounds in academia and research. We provide an MBA program with dual specializations in business analytics, finance, human resources, and marketing. Alumni from our 2012-starting programs, which saw the graduation of our first batch in 2014, have gone on to hold prominent positions in the business sector.

ELIGIBILITY

To maintain the tradition of academic excellence of the Institute, eligibility criteria are stringent. All aspiring applicants must be Graduate in 10+2+3 system as recognized by Association of Indian Universities/AICTE in any discipline or Graduate (or Postgraduate) in any professional course [Engineering, Computer Application, Hospital Management, B.Sc., B.Com., BA etc.] of recognized University. Candidates appearing in the final year of their Graduation examination can also apply, provided they complete all formalities of examinations and furnish the proof of having met the minimum eligibility criteria before university registration.

This is an excellent combination for those students who are keen on working in the finance field, but who believe they have the personality and flair for marketing. This specialization offers you the opportunity to train yourselves from the best of both worlds. In finance, you will learn, for instance, about financial markets and services, portfolio management and banking. Then, you will draw from marketing specializations such as consumer behavior and sales and distribution to pitch these products to customers.

Students opting for the finance+marketing specialization choose careers that sell financial products to customers, such as commercial banks, investment or financial planning firms, credit card services or insurance companies. Of course, you have the flexibility to choose a job involving only finance, or only marketing, too.

If you believe that you want to work in the human resources departments of organizations, and you have a flair for quantitative subjects, this specialization may be your best choice. You will study the various aspects of human resources management in depth. But you will have an edge over other candidates in that you will also have a deep knowledge of taxation, mergers and acquisitions, financial modelling and so on. Candidates for human resources departments with these additional financial skills typically are preferred more and are paid higher.

Students opting for the finance+human resources management specialization choose careers in compensation and benefits, in HR strategy, or in firms in the process of mergers, acquisitions and the like. You could also choose a job involving only finance, or only human resources management.

An alternative name for this specialization would be internal marketing, that is, marketing to current or potential employees of the organization. The specialization allows a student to base himself or herself either in primarily marketing or primarily human resource management, but engage in cross-disciplinary tasks. For example, a student might apply their knowledge of digital marketing to training and development, or brand management to talent acquisition.

Students opting for the marketing + human resources management specialization choose careers in internal branding or salesforce management. Of course, he/ she could also choose a job involving only marketing, or only human resources management.

MBA in Finance and Business analytics predominantly involves the analysis of financial data using analytics.
