Society

LAKE GARDENS SAHA EDUCATION SOCIETY, Lake Gardens Kolkata, registered under society registration. Act XXVI of 1961 no. S/IL/16378 of 2003-2004 was established in 2003 with the view to promote education, research and training. In this aspect the society established two colleges with a mission to serve the industrial sector by providing quality technical and managerial manpower in order to serve the industrial growth in the state of West Bengal. IMS and IMS BUSINESS SCHOOL were therefore set up inspired by the Nobel cause of education and service to the nation.

The objective of the society is to promote education, research and training. In order to fulfill this objective the society established a Management College – Institute of Management Study, at Mukundpur, Kolkata 700099. This college is a 5 storey building with 22000 sq ft area having ‘State of the Art’ Labs, informative and updated Library, Auditorium, Common Room, Canteen, Administrative Room, Placement Cell, and Conference Room etc. The building was inaugurated in June 2006.

The second college – IMS Business School, at Sonarpur, Distt 24 Parganas (South) was established in 2012. The two storied building with 20000 sq ft area is well equipped with lecture theatres, auditorium, and library and computer lab. There are separate toilets and separate common rooms for boys and girls, 24 hour power back up with fire safety devices installed throughout the campus. There is a large open space available in the campus for various activities, a hygienic canteen provides lunch and snacks. The entire campus is under CCTV surveillance.

VISION: To embark in the educational field and become a paradigm of modern teaching methods.

MISSION: The colleges have been set up with the mission to serve the industrial sector by providing quality technical and managerial manpower in order to serve the industrial growth in the state of West Bengal.

Main Line of Business:

After obtaining the affiliation of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal (formerly known as West Bengal University of Technology) for conducting BBA and BCA courses which started with approximately 40 students in both the courses in the session beginning August 2006, the college also launched MBA under University of Burdwan till 2009 and later continued the same under Punjab Technical University till 2013.

Thereafter obtaining AICTE affiliation the MBA Programme got affiliated by Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology and the second college – IMS Business School in 2012 was set up. In the 2014 session, the society added additional courses BBM (Hospital Management), BTTM (H) Tourism Management and MHA – Hospital Management.

In 2015, after obtaining affiliation with Healthcare Sector Skill Council and IT&ITES Sector Skill Council, it started Skill Development Programme under PMKVY in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and West Bengal.

Manpower:

The Director is a young, enthusiastic, dynamic visionary having huge experience in both industry and academics. The team of faculty members consists of young teachers engaged in teaching, research and other extracurricular activities.      The institute has professionally qualified and experienced staff consisting of the Director, Deans, Faculty Members, Administrative Staff and Counselors.

Placement Activities:

Our students have been placed successfully over the last ten years in various organizations like Reliance Group, ICICI Bank, GENPACT, India Bulls, SREI Infrastructure, HDFC Standard Life Insurance Ltd., Airtel, Religare, Bajaj Capital, Axis Bank, India Infoline, IDBI Bank, Future Group, ING Vyasya, Max Newyork Life Insurance, SAP Labs, TCS, WIPRO, CTS, Tech Mahindra, TATA Steel, PWC, HSBC Bank, etc. Further, students are given hands on training and summer internship in various organizations. Currently we are in the process of tying up with hospitals and airlines for boosting our courses in Hospital Management and Travel & Tourism Management.

Till date, 2030 students have successfully completed Graduation/Post Graduation programmes in various fields and most of them have been placed with organizations of repute like ITC, Amul, Pantaloons, Axis Bank etc.

PMKVY Programme is presently running and successful candidates are being placed.  The Society is affiliated with 70 companies of repute including hospitals for providing On the Job Training and Placement.
